Chad Seiter is a composer currently living in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Okemos, Michigan, he began his compositional career at the age of 15, using only basic computer MIDI. From there, he taught himself how to play the piano (though, not well!), and joined his school’s chorus, the Someko Singers, as a tenor. After high school, Chad began school at Grand Valley State University studying music composition. Chad decided to move to Los Angeles the summer of 2003, where he now resides.

He currently works for composer Michael Giacchino.

In his free time, Chad enjoys listening to film music (of course), and classical (particularly the works of Ralph Vaughan Williams and John Adams). He also greatly enjoys video games and computers. Chad is also an avid film enthusiast. While not getting out as much as he would like, he also enjoys attending the occasional party or casual gathering with his friends. He also enjoys studying the recording arts, and attending recording sessions.

Chad typically composes orchestral music, with a wide variety of influences, including that of Shostakovich, Vaughan Williams, John Adams, Elliot Goldenthal, and sometimes popular music singers such as Natalie Imbruglia. Though orchestral music is his forte, Chad has the ability to compose several genres of music.
